The Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), the leading global representative association for the hedge fund industry, has announced the launch of its new and improved website.

The re-engineered site has been structured with specific areas for members, investors, policy makers, regulators and tax authorities, and the media. The website provides these groups with information tailored to their specific needs and includes research resources on a wide range of subjects relevant to the industry.

A substantial increase in interest in the hedge fund industry has triggered a notable upgrade to AIMA’s online services.

Key features of the new website include:

• the AIMA Knowledge Centre, with sections dedicated to education, policy, regulation & Tax, and sound practices;
• a resource giving information on the regulatory and taxation positions in a number of hedge fund jurisdictions;
• information on services for those wishing to establish a hedge fund business; and
• a media centre containing AIMA’s press releases and published articles.

In the interests of transparency, much of the site is accessible by any individual: a password is not required.  This includes the glossary, research database, bibliography and many of the AIMA Journal articles.  However, some of the items listed above have access restricted to specific stakeholders.
