London, 9 March 2006: The Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) - the global hedge fund and alternative investment industry association – has appointed Matthew Jones to its Regulatory & Legal team.
Matthew, who joins from Simmons and Simmons, has taken up the position of Manager – Regulatory & Legal. He reports to Mary Richardson, AIMA’s Director of Regulatory and Legal. His remit is global providing support to his colleagues, industry and regulatory authorities in all regulatory, legal and tax matters that affect the hedge fund and related industries.
Since 1999, Matthew has been a Professional Support Lawyer at Simmons & Simmons in London, specialising in FSA regulatory matters and the broad asset management sector.
Previously, Matthew was a Partner in the Litigation Department at Gaby Hardwicke Yearwood & Griffiths. Matthew also spent time as an Associate Solicitor, Litigation at Coffin Mew and Clover, having started his career back at Simmons and Simmons in 1991.
