The G20 called on the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) to develop recommendations to promote markets’ integrity and efficiency to mitigate the risks posed to the financial system by the latest technological developments. 

On 6 July 2011, IOSCO published a consultation report on ‘Regulatory Issues Raised by the Impact of Technological Changes on Market Integrity and Efficiency’ (the Report), which seeks views on the risks to markets of new technological developments and possible future regulatory actions that could be taken to address those risks. Following feedback from respondents, IOSCO published its final Report on 20 October 2011.
