AIMA Hong Kong Education Seminar: Budget impact for India Financial Services
On 1 February 2017, Minister of Finance Mr Arun Jaitley will present the 2017/18 Union Budget in the Indian Parliament. This Budget announcement is expected to cover various tax proposals, and could have significant implications for financial services players across Asia-Pacific who have an interest in India.
The Budget will be presented against the backdrop of a bold demonetization move, BEPS implementation globally, the introduction of General Anti-Avoidance Rules (GAAR) and Goods & Services Tax (GST) in India.
Expectations for the Budget proposals are high, with foreign investors awaiting clarity on the GST legislation, GAAR implementation guidelines, India’s response to BEPS and the budget impact of demonetization.
