Detailed Course Outline

This session will cover examples of good and poor practice pertaining to front office controls - from the generation of an investment idea all the way through to order execution and post execution monitoring.  We will summarise applicable MiFID II rules pertaining to font office controls, in addition to second line oversight expectations. We will focus specifically on those areas where MiFID II has increased the standard of care for investment managers.

The session will include workshop based scenario analysis.

The speakers will share their experiences of assisting firms implement MIFID II and from undertaking regulatory investigations in relation to best execution and dealing commissions.  This session will cover primary assets classes – equities, fixed income, FX and related derivatives. This session will not cover middle and back office controls or EMIR.
