AIMA is the global industry body for alternative investment managers with a specific focus on hedge funds and private credit managers. Headquartered in London, and with 10 offices internationally, we represent the industry to key stakeholders globally including policymakers and regulators, investors, the media and the public. We have around 2,000 corporate members across more than 60 countries and run more than 300 events annually for our members around the world.

Research and Communications Associate

We are seeking an associate to support the work of our Research and Communications team. The position holder will report to the Global Head of Research and Communications. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a proven background in research wishing to work in a fast-paced environment and affords the individual with substantial opportunities to work alongside key stakeholders of the alternative investment industry.

The role includes:

  • Represent AIMA among global firms to identify and lever thought leadership on the alternative investment industry.
  • Produce proposals and original research using primary data and be able to present its findings.
  • Identify strategic thinking and materials which will efficiently assist the association to promote the alternative investment industry.
  • Monitor developments in the alternative investment industry, and the wider asset management industry.
  • Coordinate the publication and dissemination of AIMA content on all media channels, including assisting in design, reviewing of website content, and updating as required.

Required skills and experience:

The successful individual will demonstrate most of, if not all the following:

  • Experience of producing original research and content.
  • At least two years working in a fund market insight role or at a market research firm.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills as well as experience in writing reports and presenting analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously.
  • Be self-motivated, confident, and able to express views while engaging with a senior audience and possess a strong work ethic as well as superior time management skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Educated at least to degree level.
  • Curiosity and the willingness to learn about alternative investments and the alternative investment industry.

Desirable experience (but not essential)

  • Experience in developing surveys and in conducting interviews.
  • Knowledge of alternative investments and the alternative investment industry.

Further details:

Full-time position; Monday-Friday, 9am-5.30pm; 23 days’ holiday; 3-month probationary period.
