Deborah joined AIMA in August 2011 and is currently Head of Events Management. She is a dedicated global events specialist with over 10 years' experience in the events industry. Prior to joining AIMA, Deborah spent eight years at the City of London managing high-profile conferences for the public sector, organising quality corporate events, and project managing conference sponsorship within its Public Relations Office.

Georgia joined AIMA in March 2015 as Events Assistant, supporting the Head of Events. After completing a degree in Events Management, Georgia has since gained over 5 years’ experience within the events industry, managing a variety of events for a range of clients and sectors including Retail, Pharmaceutical and Financial.

Michael Bugel
Michael Bugel

Managing Director, Co-Head of APAC - Email Michael Bugel

Michael joined AIMA in 2016 as Managing Director and Co-Head of APAC and brings a wealth of experience in Asian financial markets and has been located in Hong Kong for close to 18 years. He has held senior positions on the sell side both in New York and Hong Kong. He has held leadership positions at BNP Paribas, Bear Sterns, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan and most recently at HSBC where he managed the banks senior relationships with the Asset management sector with in the Financial Institutional Group.

Michael is responsible for the management of all our activities across Asia including our National groups, membership staff, events communications and finances. Together with Kher Sheng Lee (Co-Head of APAC) operate as our senior ambassadors for AIMA in APAC and the Industry we represent.

James Burron
James Burron

Chief Operating Officer, AIMA Canada - Email James Burron

James Burron works closely with AIMA Canada’s Executive Committee and its membership on a broad range of association management and executive duties, including member liaison and communications, as well as focusing on broader policy and strategy objectives. James has a solid background of more than 20 years of international experience in the securities industry including a significant background in the alternative investment industry. Most recently, he has been involved in product origination on global platforms. He has also been active in event organization, research and writing as a Chapter Executive and spokesperson for the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association. A graduate of Simon Fraser University, James holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. He has been very active over the years in industry associations and is a frequent speaker on industry issues. James is based in the Toronto office.

Enrique Clemente
Enrique Clemente

Analyst, Tax Affairs - Email Enrique Clemente

Enrique Clemente joined AIMA in July 2014, and was appointed tax analyst, within AIMA tax affairs team. Enrique is a qualified lawyer in Spain, and worked before for Clifford Chance (Barcelona) in their international tax group. He also has an LLM in International Commercial law (specialisation in International Taxation) from City University.

Kylie Fraser

Associate, Events - Email Kylie Fraser

Kylie Fraser joined AIMA Hong Kong in February 2014 as an Events Coordinator to assist with the planning and execution of our Hong Kong Education and Networking events. Prior to AIMA, Kylie worked for Macquarie Group, which she joined following her move from Australia to Hong Kong in 2006.  Kylie has successfully organised many IPO roadshows, corporate days, education events, staff conferences and community events in both Hong Kong and Australia.

Michael Gallagher
Michael Gallagher

General Manager, AIMA Australia - Email Michael Gallagher

Michael Gallagher has over 20 years experience in the finance industry including more than 10 years in the alternative management industry.  Mr Gallagher is General manager of AIMA Australia.  Prior to joining AIMA Mr Gallagher was co-founder and CEO of Kima Capital Management, an Australian & Hong Kong based fund manager.  Previous to Kima,  Mr Gallagher was Head of Australasian Equities for Rand Merchant Bank, overseeing the Asian proprietary trading, fund of funds, ETF’s & structured products divisions.   Mr Gallagher also has extensive experience in structured equity products and derivatives having been a director of Macquarie Bank based in Australia, South Africa & the UK.  Mr Gallagher holds a BComm (UNSW) in Econometrics and Finance.

Paul Hale

Managing Director, Global Head of Tax Affairs - Email Paul Hale

Paul is responsible for tax affairs. He qualified as a lawyer and was a tax partner for more than 20 years with Simmons & Simmons where his main area of practice was with asset management industry clients, in particular in the alternative investment sector. He was a founder member and former vice-chair of the Tax Committee.

Pearl Hawkey
Pearl Hawkey

Executive PA - Email Pearl Hawkey

Pearl joined AIMA in May 2012 and provides PA support to the Government & Regulatory Affairs team as well as the Research Team. She has a wealth of experience in PA support/administrative roles and worked as a PA for an accountancy firm whilst being in the UK. Prior to relocating to the UK in December 2001, Pearl held PA support/administrative roles in South Africa within software, manufacturing and other industries.

Jack Inglis
Jack Inglis

Chief Executive Officer - Email Jack Inglis

Jack Inglis became the Chief Executive Officer of AIMA in February 2014. He has been involved with hedge funds for 25 years and has held leadership positions in prime brokerage at both Morgan Stanley, where he served for 16 years, and Barclays, where he was prior to joining AIMA. From 2007 to 2010 he was CEO at the convertible bond specialist, Ferox Capital Management. He began his career in 1983 and has extensive experience across origination, distribution and trading across the capital markets. He holds a Master of Arts in Economics from Cambridge University.

Denham joined AIMA in June 2016 as Administrative Assistant and provides support to our Membership, Events and Operations teams. Prior to this, Denham work at Hampshire County Council and Apollo Business Supplies in administrative roles.

Adam Jacobs-Dean
Adam Jacobs-Dean

Director, Global Head of Markets Regulation - Email Adam Jacobs-Dean

Adam Jacobs-Dean joined AIMA in February 2013 and is Global Head of Markets Regulation. Prior to joining AIMA, he worked at the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), where he focused on European regulatory initiatives dealing with OTC derivatives markets, notably the review of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).

Adam started his career at the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA), where he worked in both policy and supervisory roles. He also undertook a number of projects for the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR). In 2009 he was seconded from the FSA to the European Commission in Brussels, where he worked on Solvency II.

Adam has an MA in German and French from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in European Policy and Management from Birkbeck.

Tom Kehoe
Tom Kehoe

Director, Global Head of Research - Email Tom Kehoe

Tom joined AIMA as Research Manager in October 2008, was made Associate Director, Head of Research, in October 2012 and Director, Global Head of Research in May 2015. Responsible for research of the industry, Tom also works closely with AIMA’s CEO and Global Head of Government Affairs in supporting the executive’s advocacy efforts.

Tom has over 10 years' experience working in research. Prior to joining AIMA in October 2008 Tom spent four years working in hedge fund research and due diligence with BNP Paribas in New York and Dublin.

He has an honours degree in Finance and French from N.U.I. Maynooth, a Masters in Finance from the National College of Ireland and a Graduate Certificate in Investment Management from Dublin City University. In addition, Tom is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst member (CAIA).

Jiri Krol
Jiri Krol

Deputy CEO, Global Head of Government Affairs - Email Jiri Krol

Jiri Krol joined AIMA in April 2010, was appointed Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs in April 2011 and in May 2013 became Deputy CEO. Prior to joining AIMA, he worked at the European Commission, where he was responsible for the coordination of the Commission’s policy towards the Financial Stability Board and the G20.

Jiri started his career at the Czech securities market regulator. He then moved to the European Commission’s Internal Market Directorate-General, where he was responsible for the drafting and negotiation of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) implementing measures. While at the Commission, he also worked on the Non-Equity Market Transparency and the Commodity Derivatives reviews.

Previously, Jiri was appointed Financial Markets Policy Director in the Czech Ministry of Finance in 2007. In 2009, he led the Czech European Union Presidency’s work in the area of financial services, which involved finalising the Capital Requirements Directive (CRD II) and the Solvency II Directive as well as the Credit Rating Agencies regulation negotiations.

He studied international relations, economics and politics at Tufts University, London School of Economics and Sciences Po.

Jordan Large

Associate, Research - Email Jordan Large

Jordan joined AIMA in October 2015 and is currently an Associate in the Research team. Prior to joining AIMA, he worked in the acquisitions department of a private equity backed wealth management firm. Jordan has a BSc Hons in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics from the University of Warwick, an MSc in Economics and a PhD in Economics from the University of Exeter.

Kher Sheng Lee
Kher Sheng Lee

Managing Director, Deputy Global Head of Government Affairs & Head of APAC Government Affairs - Email Kher Sheng Lee

Mr. Lee is Managing Director Co-Head of APAC and Deputy Global Head of Government Affairs with AIMA.   Before AIMA, he was General Counsel with Azentus Capital Management, where he was a founding member of the firm and sole counsel responsible for all legal, compliance, and regulatory matters. Mr. Lee received his LL.B (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore law school, and is admitted to practise law in Singapore (Advocate & Solicitor), Hong Kong (Solicitor) and England & Wales (Solicitor-Advocate with full rights of audience in all criminal and civil proceedings in the higher courts). He is also a Member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb).  Kher Sheng has lived and worked in Singapore, London and Hong Kong. He is a CFA and CAIA charter holder. 

Kader Maiga

Associate, Membership - Email Kader Maiga

Kader Maiga joined AIMA in February 2015 as Membership Development Officer. Kader is highly experienced in the financial industry, and has an extensive background in finance, trading and investment strategies. Born in France, Kader began his career in London, working in the field of sales and advertising. He then moved into the world of finance and OTC execution trading, utilising his skills in the City, working for international trading groups. There he honed his knowledge of trading and sales in the international arena amongst the world’s largest financial institutions. In 2009, Kader moved to South Africa to gain greater exposure and experience in other international markets. He worked in the fields of offshore investments, wealth management and physical commodity trading. Kader holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics from the University of Greenwich. 

Jane Moran

Executive PA - Email Jane Moran

Jane joined AIMA in June 2009, and provides secretarial and administrative support to Jiri Krol, Deputy CEO and Global Head of Government Affairs. Prior to joining AIMA, Jane spent 11 years working in the private equity sector.

Charlotte Newton joined AIMA in April 2013 as Database Administrator. Prior to this, Charlotte was at the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) for six years in various roles within Business Development, Membership, Assessments and Customer Service.

Office Manager, AIMA Hong Kong - Email Odetta Ng

Odetta Ng joined AIMA in March 2009 as our office manager. Odetta lived in Australia for six years before returning to Hong Kong. Odetta is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.

Michelle Noyes
Michelle Noyes

Chief Operating Officer, AIMA New York - Email Michelle Noyes

Michelle Noyes joined AIMA in 2012 as Chief Operating Officer of AIMA's New York office. Previously, she was Head of International Sales and Investor Relations for BRZ Investimentos, one of the largest independent asset managers in Brazil. While in Sao Paulo, she also served as the Brazil representative for AIMA and established the AIMA Brazil network. Michelle began her career in hedge funds as General Manager for a global conference organizer, where she launched and managed a portfolio of successful asset management and investment events. Michelle holds a B.A. and M.A. from New York University and is a CAIA Charterholder.

Rose joined AIMA in May 2014 and provides support to the Markets Regulation, Tax Affairs and Research teams.  Rose has over 15 years’ experience within the Executive PA field.  She has worked for a variety of firms, such as finance, shopping channel and a sports charity.

Rupa Patel joined AIMA in March 2016 as Analyst, Sound Practices and Asset Management Regulation. Prior to joining AIMA, Rupa worked for a software firm providing assistance to the investment management industry in regulatory reporting, using automated systems. Rupa has a BA (Hons) in Economics from The University of Sussex.

Kariss joined AIMA in July 2014 as our Receptionist and an Administrator providing support to the operations, communications, membership and events teams as well as assisting with the building and office management. Prior to joining AIMA, Kariss has worked in a Law Firm on the concierge desk and at Colt for 2 years covering many roles including Facilities Assistant, Team Leader and Receptionist.

Adele Rentsch
Adele Rentsch

Associate, Markets Regulation - Email Adele Rentsch

Adele Rentsch joined AIMA in March 2016 and was appointed an Associate within the Markets Regulation team. Adele is an Australian-qualified legal practitioner, with an LLB in Law from the University of Canberra, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University, and an International Graduate Diploma in Financial Crime Prevention from the International Compliance Association. Prior to joining AIMA, she worked for the Financial Conduct Authority as a supervisor of the commercial and private banking divisions of one of the largest UK banks. Adele was also previously a government lawyer at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, where she worked on legislative reforms and industry supervision in the investment management, pension funds and financial advice sectors.

Mary is AIMA’s Company Secretary. She joined AIMA in 2002 to establish a regulatory department and from March 2011 until 2014 she was responsible for tax affairs, including the work of the Tax Committee. She qualified as a lawyer and holds a degree in English from King’s College, London University and a postgraduate diploma in financial services law, also from London University.

Oliver Robinson joined AIMA in November 2011 and was appointed Regulatory Analyst within the Markets Regulation team in May 2012. Oliver has an LLB in Law from Cardiff University and an LLM in International Commercial Law from Durham University.

Laura joined AIMA Singapore in June 2014 as our Office and Events Coordinator. Prior to joining AIMA, Laura managed projects on awards management with Standard Chartered from 2012 to 2014. Given her background in Account Servicing, Laura has brought with her vast experience to facilitate the Singapore events and assist with the day-to-day operations of AIMA Singapore’s office.

Kirk Taylor
Kirk Taylor

Chief Administrative Officer - Email Kirk Taylor

Kirk joined AIMA in August 2004 and is currently Chief Administrative Officer. He has previously held several other operational positions at AIMA. Prior to AIMA, he was working at a publishing company managing financial databases on public organisations and private companies and has a degree in Accountancy.

Kirk is responsible for Membership Services, Events Management and Administration including AIMA's IT and other systems and finance.

Director, Global Head of Communications - Email Dominic Tonner

Dominic Tonner joined AIMA in 2009 and is currently the Global Head of Communications. Prior to joining AIMA, he was a journalist for 14 years, contributing to a variety of newspapers and magazines in the UK and the Cayman Islands including The Sunday Times of London, the Financial Times and Cayman Financial Review. He has a degree in Media and Communications from Birmingham City University (formerly UCE).

Fiona Treble
Fiona Treble

Director, Head of Membership - Email Fiona Treble

Fiona joined AIMA in April 2013 after a long association with AIMA that included contributing as an editor to AIMA’s Guides to Sound Practices. She has worked within the alternatives investment industry since 1998, and is an investor relations and marketing specialist experienced in both single manager hedge funds and funds of hedge funds. Her career within the hedge fund industry started in the late 1990s when she joined Park Place Capital, one of the first European long/short European equity hedge funds. Since then she has worked in marketing and investor relations roles at Beaumont Capital, Schroders, Kazimir Partners and Wadhwani Asset Management. She has a degree in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Bristol.

Anna Washington

Associate Director, Asset Management Regulation - Email Anna Washington

Anna Washington (nee Berdinner) was appointed Regulatory Analyst, Asset Management Regulation for AIMA in February 2012. Prior to joining AIMA, she worked for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where she worked in the financial institutions disputes group, the structured asset finance group and the corporate financial services regulation group.

Anna is qualified as a solicitor and has a degree in Law and German from Southampton University.

Managing Director, Global Head of Asset Management Regulation & Sound Practices - Email Jennifer Wood

Jennifer Wood, Managing Director, Global Head of Asset Management Regulation and Sound Practices, joined AIMA in September 2012.

Prior to joining AIMA, Jennifer was a Partner in Dechert LLP’s London financial services group, where she focused her practice on advising UK, US, European and Asian financial services firms, investment managers and investment funds on US regulatory matters, including investment adviser and fund registration and compliance matters, fund formation matters and fund governance among other things. She studied finance at the University of Iowa and law at the Columbia Law School, where she was the editor-in-chief of the Columbia Business Law Review.
