AIMA APAC Webinar - Making Japan a Premier Global Financial Center: A Review of Japan’s First Policy Initiatives

Japan Singapore China Hong Kong Australia

AIMA APAC invites you to join our webinar on 20 May regarding the Japan’s new policy package to expand Japan’s role as an international financial and global asset management center.

The Japanese government’s comprehensive policy package for enhancing Japan’s resurgence as an international financial center has been publicly announced.  The tax-related policies became effective in April and the regulatory reforms are now under review in the Diet.  In addition, the Financial Services Agency (FSA) has set up the Financial Market Entry Office to assist new entry of foreign companies and finance professionals.  It is anticipated that additional foreign investors will be attracted to invest in Japan after the introduction of these new policies.

Our webinar will cover both the tax and regulatory initiatives to attract foreign asset management firms and foreign talent, including a discussion of the FSA’s notice concerning the treatment of carried interests, certain registration exemption anticipated to significantly benefit foreign asset managers, etc.  In addition, the functions and procedures of the Financial Market Entry Office will be briefly reviewed.   We look forward to seeing you in the webinar!
