Brian joined the Department of Finance in 2011 and was most recently Head of Credit Union Policy from 2017 to end March 2023. He led the Programme for Government credit union policy review process, which was completed during 2022.
Prior to that Brian managed a variety of strategic projects and corporate finance transactions arising from the recapitalisation and restructuring of the Irish banking system including the re-IPO of Permanent TSB in 2015 and the sale of Irish Life to Great-West Lifeco in 2013. Brian led the Government contingency plan for Brexit for the financial services sector.
Before joining the Department of Finance Brian worked with Davy Corporate Finance and Deloitte Corporate Finance and qualified as an accountant with Horwath Bastow Charleton. Brian is also a Certified Bank Director.
