Principal, Total Portfolio Management (TPM) team, OMERS
Sandra is a Principal in the newly created Total Portfolio Management (TPM) team at OMERS. Prior to joining TPM she worked in the Economics Research team at OMERS Capital Markets since its inception in 2016. Sandra provides insights for OMERS Chief Investment Officer and investment teams on the global macroeconomic and financial environment. She is also involved in thematic research to identify medium-term investment risks and opportunities for OMERS. Her areas of research focus are global monetary policy and macro-financial linkages.
Prior to joining OMERS, Sandra worked in the Financial Markets Department at the Bank of Canada where her research focus was on understanding how monetary policy affects financial markets. She has an MSc in Finance from the University of British Columbia and an Economics Specialization from the University of Toronto.
She is originally from Colombia, and has lived throughout North America since 2001
