Sam Reda

President of Maralex Capital Inc. and Co-Founder and Chairman of AlphaCCO Software Inc.

Sam Reda has over 40 years of investment management experience and expertise. Mr. Reda previously held the positions of : Chairman of Triasima Portfolio Management; Vice-Chairman and Executive Vice-President at Fiera Capital; President and Chief Operating Officer at Natcan Investment Management; and Executive Vice-President at TAL Institutional Management (a division of TAL Global Asset Management).

He is a member of several boards and advisory committees, including Lysander Funds , PBY Capital and Alpha CCO Software . He also sits on the Concordia University Pension and Investment Committees (Vice Chairman), the Development Committee of the McGill University Health Centre Foundation (where he was past Chairman of the Board), the Canadian Board of the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans (IFEBP), CFA Montreal Programs Committee and the Advisory Committee of the Retirement Plan for the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation’s employees. He is currently Co-President of the McGill University Health Centre Foundation’s new $50-million Fix Broken Hearts campaign.

He previously served on the boards of several investment management and insurance organizations, including the Professional Liability Insurance Fund of the Quebec Bar, Triasima Portfolio Management, Fiera Capital, Natcan Investment Management and CFA Montreal.

Mr. Reda started two major annual educational investment-related events in Montreal: in 1999, the “Séminaire sur la gestion des caisses de retraite” (Seminar on pension fund investment management) for the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans; and in 2009, the “Dialogue with our Leaders” series for CFA Montreal. He continues to organize both.

Since 2011, Mr. Reda has been President of Maralex Capital Inc., a firm specializing in providing strategic consulting to investment management and wealth management organizations. He is also co-founder and Chairman of Alpha CCO Software Inc., a firm providing compliance and risk management solutions in the investment management field and to various other industries.

Mr. Reda holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from McGill University and is a CFA charter holder. He is also a graduate of the Corporate Directors Program offered by the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Sam Reda possède plus de 40 ans d’expérience et d’expertise en gestion de placements. M. Reda a précédemment occupé le poste de président du conseil de Gestion de portefeuille Triasima, vice-président du conseil et vice-président exécutif de Fiera Capital, président et chef de la direction de Natcan Investment Management et vice-président exécutif de TAL Gestion institutionnelle (une division de TAL Gestion globale d’actifs).

Il est membre de plusieurs conseils d’administration et comités consultatifs, notamment chez Lysander Funds, PBY Capital et Alpha CCO Software Inc. Il siège également aux comités de retraite et d’investissement de l’Université Concordia (vice-président du comité), à la Fondation du Centre universitaire de santé de l’Université McGill (ex-président du conseil), au Conseil d’administration canadien de l’International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans (IFEBP), comité des programmes de CFA Montréal et au comité consultatif du plan de pension des employés de la Fondation de la famille J.W. McConnell. Il est actuellement coprésident de la nouvelle campagne de la Fondation du Centre universitaire de santé McGill visant à recueillir 50 millions de dollars, « Fix Broken Hearts ».

Auparavant, il a siégé aux conseils d'administration de plusieurs sociétés de gestion de placements et d'assurances, dont le Fonds d'assurance responsabilité professionnelle du Barreau du Québec, Gestion de portefeuille Triasima, Fiera Capital, Natcan Investment Management et CFA Montréal.

M. Reda a lancé deux événements annuels majeurs en matière d’éducation aux investissements à Montréal : en 1999, le « Séminaire sur la gestion des caisses de retraite » pour l’International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans ; et en 2009, le cycle de conférences « Dialogue avec nos leaders » pour CFA Montréal. Il continue d'organiser ces deux événements.

Depuis 2011, M. Reda est président de Maralex Capital Inc., une firme spécialisée dans le conseil stratégique pour les sociétés de gestion de placements. Il est également cofondateur et président du conseil de Logiciel Alpha CCO Inc., une entreprise qui fournit des solutions de conformité pour la gestion de portefeuille et diverses autres industries.

M. Reda est titulaire d’un baccalauréat en commerce de l’Université McGill et détient le titre de CFA. Il est également diplômé du programme de formation des administrateurs offert par l'Institute of Corporate Directors et la Rotman School of Management de l'Université de Toronto.
