Philippe Bergevin is a Senior Economist at the AMF. Philippe is part of the Strategic Oversight Group that is responsible for monitoring risks that may have systemic implications for securities markets and financial institutions. Philippe has been closely involved in cyber security efforts at the AMF, and also with the Canadian Securities Administrators and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
Prior to joining the AMF in 2013, Philippe was a Senior Analyst at the C.D. Howe Institute where he specialized in financial regulation and monetary policy. He was a frequent contributor to public policy debates through publications, conferences, and media appearances. He also worked for the Parliamentary Information and Research Service in Ottawa where he provided expert advice and analysis to Members of the House of Commons and the Senate and to parliamentary committees.
Philippe holds an MSc in Economics from HEC Montréal.
