Loïc Fery is the founder of a leading alternative investment manager and a seasoned entrepreneur. As founder, CEO, and Co-CIO of Chenavari Investment Managers, he is well known for his investment track record in European credit markets. Alongside his hedge fund and private markets activities, he is also involved in professional sports as the owner of French football club FC Lorient.
Founded in 2008, Chenavari has grown into a major alternative credit and fixed-income firm with $5.5 billion AUM. Headquartered in London with offices in Paris, Luxembourg, and the UAE (ADGM), the firm focuses on credit, structured finance, specialty finance, and private credit, serving more than 250 institutional investors globally, including UAE sovereign funds. Its flagship fund has delivered a 21.2% net annualised return since 2009.
Before launching Chenavari, Loïc held senior roles in investment banking, primarily in credit trading. From 2002 to 2007, he served as Global Head of Credit Markets at Calyon, having started his career at Société Générale in Asia during the Asian financial crisis. He is considered a pioneer in the development of non-US credit markets and co-authored several publications on credit and securitisation.
Since 2009, Loïc has been the owner and President of FC Lorient, which played 14 seasons in Ligue 1 under his leadership. He also served for more than a decade on the Board of the French Professional Football League (LFP), where he played a central role in securing the €1.5bn CVC investment into French professional football.
Through his family office, A2MF Capital, Loïc has been an active private investor for 25 years, backing over 50 early-stage companies worldwide, including Spotify and OpenAI, with a focus on tech, biotech, and sports.
Loïc Fery has three children and is active in philanthropy, supporting organizations such as the HEC Foundation and the ChampSeed Foundation, which supports young tennis talents.
