Michael Yhip

Michael started his career as an investment banker in the late ‘90s, advising companies and governments on their debt strategy and financing needs. He then went on to build RBC’s national interest rate risk management business for its commercial clients, which helped a significant number of public and private companies access better tools to help them manage their risks.  In 2006, Michael co-founded Garrison Hill one of Canada few global macro focused hedge funds and in 2011, he won a Morningstar Investment Award in the category of Best Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund for his performance during 2008-2011 (the Great Financial Crisis), one of the most difficult economic climates in recent history. Michael is the leader of Michael Yhip Wealth Partners of RBC Dominion Securities – a full service wealth and investment management practice focused on working with significant business owners and entrepreneurs.
