VP, Head of ESG Commercial Strategy, PREQIN

Andrea Ramirez is VP, Head of ESG Commercial Strategy at Preqin. As the strategic global ESG subject matter expert at Preqin, Andrea is tasked with spearheading the efforts to commercialize Preqin’s expert ESG capabilities and grow the market share by translating industry trends and key sustainable finance issues into best-in-class product solutions. Andrea also supports Preqin’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, corporate responsibility strategy and the company’s reporting based on frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).

Before Preqin, Andrea worked at CAF, the development bank of Latin America, the leading multilateral institution that finances development in the region. Andrea and her team at the social innovation department were responsible for leading the bank’s efforts to identify and finance useful and sustainable solutions to social and environmental challenges in Latin American countries. Andrea was tasked with designing, leading, and implementing multidisciplinary and challenging projects aiming to produce positive impact on issues aligned with the UN Sustainable Development goals, such as financial inclusion, quality of housing, health, and gender equality.

Andrea holds a master’s degree in Economic Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science in the UK; bachelor’s degrees in Economics and International Business Administration from Universidad del Rosario in Colombia; bachelor honours in Science of Management from Montpellier Business School in France; and further studies including the level 4 CFA certificate in ESG investing, CAIA Fundamentals of Alternative Investments, Harvard University’s certificate in Building State Capabilities and Problem-Driven Iterative Adaptation methodology, and Cambridge University’s certificate in Business and Climate Change.
