James Askar

James Askar is Global Head of Investment Analytics at Man Group. His unit is responsible for producing all analytics and reporting on Man Groups range of products including long only equity and fixed income funds, alternative equity and fixed income funds, macro & multi asset funds, as well as private & real estate products. His ESG journey started in 2017 when his team designed and built Man Group's first "ESG tool" which is an interactive platform to show an ever increasing amount of ESG/RI data on a range of funds and also includes stewardship and voting data. He has worked on commercialisation of ESG/RI analytics at Man for clients and has generated meaningful revenue for Man Group providing these services on external portfolios for clients. James is part of Man's RI leadership team and has been actively involved in helping to form and design Man Group's RI frame work especially in calculation methodology and the use of ESG/RI data. He is also heavily involved in regulatory implementation and has worked on SFDR, TCFD, SDR and net zero amongst other initiatives. He specialises in dealing with alternative asset classes, how to account for short positions, different asset classes and derivatives when calculating emissions and other RI data.
