Jennie Baek practises capital markets and securities law with an emphasis on the investment funds and asset management industry and advises clients on all facets of Canadian securities law, including compliance and registration matters.

Jennie combines her in-depth knowledge of the Canadian securities regulatory landscape and her significant in-house industry experience to provide clients with responsive, business-focused solutions. Advising on a variety of corporate and securities law matters, Jennie has extensive experience assisting Canadian and international clients with the formation, structuring, management and distribution of public and private funds, including mutual funds, alternative funds, ETFs, private equity, real estate funds, access funds and master-feeder fund structures. She also provides counsel on exemptive relief matters, registration and regulatory compliance and corporate governance and reporting obligations.

Jennie is a member of McMillan’s Sustainability / ESG Initiative and the firm’s Korea Law Group. She also co-leads the firm’s blockchain, cryptocurrency and digital assets group and has deep regulatory and transactional experience to help clients gain competitive advantages among emerging opportunities while navigating the risks FinTech brings. A thought leader, she regularly publishes and speaks on topics related to capital markets, investment funds and asset management, ESG and blockchain, cryptocurrency and digital assets.
