Senior Legal Counsel, Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA)

Stephanie Adolphus is Senior Legal Counsel at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) where she advises on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters including the regulation and supervision of investment funds and persons carrying on securities investment business, AML/CFT compliance, and enforcement.  She also provides support to the Acting Deputy General Counsel on the day-to-day operations of the Legal Division.

Stephanie first joined CIMA in May 2012 as a Senior Analyst in the Insurance Supervision Division, having worked in the insurance industry just prior. She later left CIMA to pursue her articles of clerkship at a local law firm, following which she accepted a position as an Associate in the law firm’s corporate and finance practice, where she advised on the establishment, management and regulation of Cayman investment funds as well as general corporate and insurance matters.

She re-joined CIMA as a Senior Analyst in the Insurance Supervision Division in 2018 and later transitioned to the Legal Division initially in the role as Junior Legal Counsel and then subsequently Legal Counsel before taking up the role of Senior Legal Counsel in April 2022.
