Yasir Mallick has nearly 20 years of experience in the investment industry. In his current role at CIBC, he leads manager selection and portfolio construction for the CIBC Pension Plan’s public equity and hedge fund portfolios.
Previously, Yasir held senior positions at UBC Investment Management, University of Toronto Asset Management, and Ontario Power Generation, where he was responsible for manager selection across public equity, private markets, and hedge funds. He began his career leading asset allocation, asset-liability management, and risk management for OPG’s investment portfolio (OPG Pension Fund and Ontario Nuclear Funds).
In addition to his roles at institutional allocators, Yasir has served as a trusted advisor to large Canadian asset managers and pension funds, delivering management consulting engagements while at KPMG.
Yasir holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm) and a Master of Finance (MFin) from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Ontario, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations
