Kevin Bong

Kevin is Managing Director and Head of Portfolio Design & Construction in the Total Fund Management department of CPP Investments. He leads the team that defines total fund targets, factor-based portfolio construction, sustainability design, and research into systemic and emerging risk factors. 

Kevin was formerly Executive Managing Director, Chief Investment Strategist and Head of Singapore for AIMCo, overseeing total portfolio and total fund strategy, execution, and management; sustainability and sustainable investing; as well as AIMCo’s geographic expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to that, Kevin was Managing Director of the Economics & Investment Strategy department of GIC, where he determined the strategic outlook, asset exposures, benchmarks, and capital allocation for the total fund. Before that, Kevin managed the External Public Investments & Credit portfolio at OPTrust in Toronto, where the team pioneered the allocation to multi-asset funds and hedge funds, and advanced the transformation of the portfolio and its investment policies. Earlier in his career, Kevin was Vice President and Portfolio Manager in GIC’s External Managers department in New York overseeing North American equity funds and hedge funds, and an Investment Officer in GIC’s Investment Policy & Strategy department in Singapore analyzing asset classes and strategies, refining optimization techniques, and advising the government on its long-term investment goals and risks.  

Kevin is a Board Director of the Pacific Pension & Investment Institute, a Co-opted Investment Committee Member for the National University of Singapore Board of Trustees, an Investment Committee member for the Tote Board, and a Board Member of the Singapore Labour Foundation.

Kevin holds degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and in Management Science (Finance) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a Stanford Executive Program (SEP) alumnus, and is also a CFA charter holder.
