Head of China, Tradeweb
Michael Chen joined Tradeweb in Sep 2021 as Head of China. Based in Shanghai, Michael is responsible for Tradeweb’s China Strategy planning and execution covering both Bond Connect Northern and South projects. His role is to build up Tradeweb branding and client base in China, introduce global leading e-trading technology, advance bond market opening and facilitate the access to and participation in China’s Inter-bank Bond Market.
Working in the financial industry since 2008, Michael started his career at HSBC, where he spent 8 years with the last position as Senior Vice President of RMB Internationalization Division. Later on, he held various leadership positions at Standard Chartered Bank and J.P. Morgan as Director of Securities Service and Executive Director of International Banking respectively. Michael Chen joined CCDC in August 2018 as Managing Director, Head of Overseas Client Service. In this role, his team looks after over 1000 global investor clients with total depository volume over RMB3.5tln at CCDC.
