Steve Bruce

Steve Bruce has been providing strategic counsel to financial services clients for nearly 40 years. For the last two decades, he has focused almost exclusively on advising investment managers in every facet of their businesses, from brand building, to IR and PR, media training, activist campaigns, M&A, IPOs and succession planning. Steve has been involved in financial services’ largest mergers and partial sales and has also provided counsel amidst some of the most well-known crises in the alternative investment industry to date. Prior to founding ASC Advisors, Steve spent 23 years at Abernathy MacGregor, where he built and led the firm’s alternative investment practice that, at its height, represented over 80 firms with a combined AUM of over $800 billion. He joined Abernathy MacGregor in 1988 after his former firm, Bruce & Leavy Communications, was acquired. Steve also previously worked at Ogilvy & Mather, J. Walter Thompson, Hill & Knowlton, and Burson-Marsteller. Steve received the Presidential Volunteer Award from President George W. Bush for his 40+ years of work with Special Olympics International. He has also been actively involved in the Robin Hood Foundation, Help for Children, Sandy Hook Promise, 100 Women in Finance, and Citizens Against Gun Violence.
