Lorna Chen is the Asia Regional Managing Partner, Head of Greater China at Shearman & Sterling LLP. Apart from serving as regional leader, Lorna Chen is also a member of the firm’s Executive Group. Lorna founded and leads the firm’s asset management and investment funds practice in Asia. Lorna has 27 years of experience across the United States, Europe and Asia in corporate law, including 23 years in the investment funds industry. She advises clients in the structuring, restructuring, formation and operation of alternative investment products such as hedge funds and PE/VC funds, and has extensive experience in cross-border transactions representing top global institutional clients. Lorna is currently a vice chairman of the Technical Committee of the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. Lorna was appointed by the Hong Kong government Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau as a panel member of Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal in 2021 and is serving her second 2-year term.
