Executive Director, Private Market Investment Department, GPIF, responsible for structuring, operation and administration on private market assets at GPIF since April 2026, following his service as Managing Director of the department from July 2018 to March 2026, overlooking GPIF’s private market investment business across asset classes, i.e. infrastructure, private equity and real estate.
Before joining GPIF in March 2016, led a newly established team at Sumitomo Mitsui Asset Management (‘SMAM’, now renamed as Sumitomo Mitsui DS Asset Management) which developed investment opportunities in the alternative space for SMAM’s clients .
Before moved to SMAM from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (‘SMBC’) in late 2014, took a leading role to develop new investment opportunities in the private equity investment market in Asia-Pacific region for the bank since he joined SMBC in 2007.
Started his professional career at Sumitomo Trust & Banking (now renamed as Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank) in1987 and accumulated experiences in the credit investment business area, such as corporate, project, municipality and emerging market financing as well as securitization bond/loan investment opportunities in global market, at the bank’s Tokyo head office and its London Branch.
Graduated from Hitotsubashi University, with Bachelor of Commerce in 1987. Completed Investment Management Programme at London Business School in 2002.
