Senior Executive Managing Director and Global Head of Illiquid Assets, OPTrust
Sandra Bosela is Senior Executive Managing Director and Global Head of Illiquid Assets at OPTrust, a Canadian public sector pension fund with $27 billion in net assets and more than 117,000 members.
Sandra joined OPTrust in 2012 and currently leads the Illiquid Assets program. She is responsible for overseeing investment strategy and portfolio construction across the global private markets portfolio and leads the teams focused on investment execution and asset management from our offices in Toronto, London, and Sydney. She previously served as Global Head of Private Equity.
Sandra brings nearly three decades of experience within the financial services industry, specializing in investment strategy, deal execution, asset management, and team leadership. Prior to OPTrust, she spent over a decade at a Canadian middle‑market private equity firm and began her career in investment banking, focused on mergers and acquisitions.
Sandra holds an HBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University and completed the General Management Program at the Harvard Business School. She was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network in 2017 and 2020.
