Les Baquiran founded Alpine in 2014 and prior he was a Principal at Park Hill, then a division of Blackstone where he covered North and South American investors and Funds in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Prior to Park Hill, he was a Managing Director at ISI Group (now Evercore), covering investors in the Americas, Asia and Australia, opening the firms’ first relationships in Korea, Brazil, New Zealand and Malaysia. He began his career at Brown Brothers Harriman as an equity research analyst. He holds the Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses.
Current and former advisor roles and memberships include Good Judgment Inc., the Council of Foreign Relations, Empire Angels, Toigo Foundation, Asia Society, The Chinese Finance Association, China Institute and Leadership Council Member of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). Les has spoken at or advised on curriculum at schools including Harvard, Stanford, Yale and NYU. He graduated from Connecticut College with a degree in International Political Economy with study abroad and exchanges at Georgetown University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, US Coast Guard Academy and University of Cape Town. He is an Alternative Rock fan and musician and lives in New Jersey with his wife and four children.
