David Richardson

Partner, Heidrick & Struggles

David Richardson is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ New York office and a member of the Financial Services Practice. He works with clients at the intersection of technology and the financial markets. He partners with emerging companies seeking to disrupt the industry and create an open financial system. In addition, he works with a diverse range of established technology companies servicing the financial markets and global banks, asset managers, and hedge funds who are seeking to onboard transformational technology talent. 
Within the fintech industry, David has worked on c-suite and board engagements for software and data providers servicing the sell-side and buy-side. Additionally, he has worked on a variety of assignments for market infrastructure and crypto and firms. His functional focus has included Go-to-market, technology offices and product.
Before transitioning to New York, David spent several years working for the firm’s Financial Services Practice in London. During this time, he worked with privately held and public companies to hire technology and business leaders. He gained considerable experience in industries, including capital markets, alternative investments, asset management, and market utilities.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, David worked for a start-up executive recruitment firm specializing in technology leadership roles within the financial services industry.
David earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with honors from Cardiff Business School.
