Makiko Sato joined CyberAgent in 2000, first working in internet advertising and then moving on to business development in the company’s subsidiaries. Over 2006–2015, she was directly involved in seed-stage startup investment at CyberAgent Capital. In June 2016, she established iSGS Investment Works, becoming its Managing Director and Representative Partner. Additionally, she served on the J-Startup Recommendation Committee and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Committee on Data Utilization Promotion. Selected by Forbes JAPAN’s editorial team as one of 15 prominent female figures in Japan's venture capital industry, Makiko currently also holds positions as an External Director of Toyo Kanetsu (TSE:6369) and a council member of Japan’s Development Association for Youth Leaders.
