Jamie Mead

Chief Executive Officer & Co-owner, Talaria Asset Management

After completing a Master of Engineering degree, Jamie recognised that the core competencies of problem solving & numeracy would equally apply to the investment banking industry. He consequently joined Morgan Stanley’s Graduate Investment Banking class in London before heading to Goldman Sachs.

Jamie left Goldman after being invited to join the large USA headquartered multi-strategy hedge fund, Deephaven Capital Management. It was on the trading desk at Deephaven where Jamie lived through the GFC, witnessing first-hand the volatility and power of market corrections across asset classes that included CDO’s, bank loans, CDS & high-yield corporate debt among others.

Subsequently, Jamie was a member of the core team that started the Global Equities Fund, Tyrus – a multibillion-dollar investment firm and the largest hedge fund launched in 2009 in Europe. Tyrus won multiple awards and accolades for both investment performance & operational excellence.

Jamie left Tyrus after nearly seven years to relocate his family to Australia and become the CEO and co-owner of Talaria Asset Management.
