Senior Economist, Barrenjoey

Johnathan is a Senior Economist at Barrenjoey responsible for researching and forecasting the Australian and New Zealand economies. Johnathan designed and developed Barrenjoey's economic framework and forecasting capabilities across Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to working to Barrenjoey Johnathan worked at EY, working as a senior economist in EY’s Oceania Office of the Chief Economist and EY’s Valuations Modelling and Economics Team, and at NSW Treasury as a Principal Economist, working within the Economic and Revenue forecasting division of Treasury.

He has extensive experience researching, analysing and forecasting the Australian, international and state economies in a high level of detail and delivering high-quality research to Fixed Income and Equity market participants, senior members and executives of government and business. Johnathan will also occasionally make appearances in various forms of news media including print, radio and video. He is passionate about promoting the economics profession, which he does through his position as councillor in the Economics Society of Australia and through educational presentations to school aged kids.

He has a Masters of Financial Analysis and Bachelor of Economics, majoring in Economics and Finance from the University of New South Wales.
