His main areas of focus are banking, regulatory, financial services and products, including funds and derivatives, as well as compliance and regulatory matters, including in the field of FinTech and blockchain. Vaïk has a long and successful track-record and extensive experience of advising Swiss and multinational investment banks and financial institutions, funds, fund distributors, representatives and paying agents, asset managers and securities firms on local and cross-border issues, including representing financial institutions vis-à-vis authorities, in particular the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).

Vaïk is also regularly involved in corporate, commercial and financing transactions, acting for arrangers, underwriters, lenders, borrowers and sponsors in domestic and multijurisdictional financing transactions (including acquisition, leveraged and syndicated financings)

Vaïk frequently publishes books, articles and newsletters on a wide range of legal issues in his fields of practice and is a frequent speaker in conferences and seminars. Among other publications, he is the author of the only book in French language focusing on the applicable OTC trading requirements in Switzerland, ‘La négociation des dérivés au sens de la LIMF’ (‘The negotiation of derivatives within the meaning of FMIA’) published in 2019. Vaïk is also the correspondent in Switzerland of the French Association of Doctors of Law (AFDD - Association Française des Docteurs en Droit) and is the CMS Switzerland representative in the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA). He has recently contributed to the AIMA Digital Asset Custody Guide released in 2022.
