Dominic McCormick

Dominic McCormick has worked in financial services, investment consulting, and investment management for over 40 years. In 2002 he co-founded multi-asset manager and implemented consultant, Select Asset Management, which was purchased by OneVue Holdings in late 2014. Dominic remained CIO at Select until mid-2016 before consulting on investment strategy and research for Select’s Customized Portfolio Solutions and managing the wind-down of various Select Funds. Since 2018 Dominic has expanded his consulting activities to cover investment committee roles, fundresearch, listed funds and various one-off investment projects.

Before co-founding Select, Dominic provided investment consulting services to several financial planning organisations between 2001-2002. From 1993 to 2001 Dominic held research roles at financial planner/stockbroker Bridges Financial Services including Head of Research from 1996. Prior to this he held investment and technical research roles at Pembroke Financial Planners, MLC and AMP where he commenced employment in 1985.

Through his career Dominic has been active in speaking on, and writing about, investments, particularly in challenging conventional wisdom, highlighting contrarian opportunities and identifying flawed and vulnerable investment offerings. In 2009 he helped uncover the Astarra/Trio Capital scandal, at the time the largest superannuation fraud in Australian history. In 2025 he received the Contribution to the Australian Alternative Funds Industry Award.

Dominic has a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University, a Master of Commerce (Finance) from University of New South Wales and has completed the Securities Institute of Australia Diploma.
