Leila Rafi

Practicing in Toronto, Leila advises on a broad range of securities law matters and has a highly transactional practice with a focus on corporate finance and investment funds and asset management. Leila has worked for clients operating in a variety of industries. She is a prolific speaker at various industry events, on topics including investor rights, M&A litigation, continuous disclosure, corporate governance, diversity, equality and inclusion, and leadership and regularly writes on securities law topics, including being the co-author to a couple of lengthy white papers. Leila teaches an introductory course on securities regulation at the Metropolitan University law school in Toronto. In the past, she has been Adjunct Faculty at Queens, Western and Windsor law schools. As well, Leila sits on the board of VersaFi (formerly Women in Capital Markets) and is a mentor with the University of Toronto Student Women’s Association Program. In 2022 Leila was recognized as one of Canada’s 25 Most Influential Lawyers. Leila won the Lexpert Rising Stars Award for top Canadian lawyers under 40 in 2018, was Lexpert Ranked in 2021, 2023 and 2024 as a Leading Lawyer for Capital Markets and was awarded Best Lawyers for corporate law between 2019-2024. In the past, Ms. Rafi acted as a member of the Securities Advisory Committee at the Ontario Securities Commission.
