Amanda Coakley is a tech policy and global affairs strategist focused on AI governance, frontier technologies, and geopolitical risk.

She is an AI safety fellow at the AI Safety Initiative at Georgia Tech, a research scholar with Arcadia Impact’s AI Governance Taskforce, and a research group member at the Centre for AI and Digital Policy, contributing to international AI governance analysis.

She is also a columnist at World Politics Review writing on European politics and international affairs.

Before moving into AI policy, Amanda was an Emmy nominated foreign correspondent. Her reporting has appeared in international outlets including TIME, The Guardian Long Read, The Irish Times, CNN, and Foreign Policy. She has covered armed conflict in Ukraine and Nagorno-Karabakh, reporting on frontline dynamics, regional security, and the human impact of war.
