Head of Division for Investment Funds & Sustainable Finance, German Federal Ministry of Finance
Dr. Esther Wandel is head of division for “Investment funds & sustainable finance“ at the German Federal Ministry of Finance. In her work she focuses on the international, European and national Agenda on sustainable finance and asset management topics.
To lead and coordinate work on financial services during the Germany EU presidency Esther was heading the financial services team of the Permanent Representation of Germany in Brussels for two years.
She worked in total 7 years for the European Commission and 3 years as a manager at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in London. She started her career 1998 at German Banking Supervisor. She holds a doctorate in environmental law.
