David Lonergan is a Partner in KPMG’s Governance, Risk & Compliance Services practice in Hong Kong, with over 17 years of experience across Asia and Australia. He advises banks, asset managers and securities firms on regulatory compliance and non-financial risk management, bringing together consulting experience and insights from his time with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
David’s experience in private banking and wealth management spans Hong Kong and Singapore, where he has helped firms strengthen pricing transparency, address overcharging and enhance client remediation programmes. His work also covers best execution, anti-money laundering frameworks and the design of operating models and controls to support business expansion. He has served as a technical consultant to Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission on thematic reviews of best execution and client facilitation, contributing to the development of market guidance.
