Eli Cohen

General Counsel, Centrifuge

Eli Cohen is a corporate lawyer with over 25 years of experience in commercial transactions, financial services and regulatory matters. He is currently General Counsel for Centrifuge, the platform for onchain finance. He also serves as Chief Compliance Officer for Anemoy Capital SPC Limited, a British Virgin Islands fund company and issuer of the tokenized Anemoy Liquid Treasury Fund 1.

Previously, Eli was Deputy General Counsel with Block.One in Hong Kong where he helped build the institutional-grade Bullish exchange. Prior to that, he held several roles at traditional financial market infrastructures including Head of Legal-Asia for CME Group, Head of Legal (Regulatory) for Singapore Exchange and Director and Assistant General Counsel for Euroclear Bank in Brussels, Belgium. Eli has global experience working across the US, Europe and APAC and spent time stationed in offices in Chicago, Washington, DC and Moscow during his time at Baker & McKenzie. 

He is a 1994 graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Before law school, he worked in the United States Arms Control and Disarmament Agency and was a Presidential Management Intern at the Department of Defense.
