Omeir has been part of First Abu Dhabi Bank’s Global Markets since 2008 and has held several roles within Global Markets.  He is currently leading a team that focuses towards strategic relationships with Non-Banking Financial Institutions that includes Supranationals, Pension Funds and Investment Management firms globally.  The team played a vital role in the largest multibillion Energy Infrastructure transaction, attracting significant Foreign Direct Investments in the region through the consortium of top tier Institutional Investors.  In addition to this; Omeir was responsible for the Alternative Investments mandate.  He had been an integral part in establishing and managing the Alternative Investments desk since 2008, responsible for managing Hedge Funds and Private Equity portfolios. Being a part of the team that manages Bank’s proprietary investments of $33 billion; Omeir represents Global Markets on Bank's Asset Allocation Committee, Investment Review Committee and the Fund Advisory Board. Since 2010, he was the nominated host for the annual Global Financial Markets Forum, where he had hosted guests, such as Dr. Ben Bernanke, General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret), Dr Mohamed El-Erian, Tony Blair, Nicolas Sarkozy, Larry Summers, Secretary James Baker to name a few.


Prior to FAB/NBAD, he was a Portfolio Manager at Union National Bank where he was a part of the Investment Team that managed proprietary investments of over $1 billion.  Before joining UNB; he was the Investment and Development Analyst at The Private Office of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan (aka SBK Holdings). During his tenor at the Private Office; Omeir was selected as a local analyst assigned at the Abu Dhabi Department of Economy, contributing in the Feasibility Study of the establishment of $10 billion Petrochemical City. 
Omeir is a graduate of McMaster University, Canada and holds a Hons B.Comm with majors in Finance and Accounting. He was awarded the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation in March 2010 and serves on the Global Investors Committee at Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA).
