Kazushige Kamiyama // 神山 一成

Kazushige Kamiyama is one of six Executive Directors at the Bank of Japan (BOJ), supporting the Governor and Deputy Governors. As of March 2026, he oversees the Financial System and Bank Examination Department, the Payment and Settlement Systems Department (the Payment Systems Division), and the Currency Issue Department.

Since joining the BOJ in 1990, Mr. Kamiyama has played a pivotal role in both domestic and international operations. He has amassed extensive experience in monetary policy, economic research, and international coordination across numerous domains.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Tokyo in 1990 and a Master of Science degree in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford in 1997. Furthermore, he was a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University in the City of New York from June 2013 to June 2014.
