Elena Arveras has been working at DG FISMA at the European Commission since the publication of the Commission’s Action Plan on Sustainable Finance in 2018. Her field of expertise has been sustainability reporting, working in different policymaking initiatives such as the revision of the Non-financial Reporting Directive and the recently adopted Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. Since mid-2022, she is responsible for all work related to the SFDR, including the ongoing assessment of its implementation. She started her career in the banking and consumer goods industry in Germany, working in management controlling and treasury. She studied Law and Business Administration at Universidad Pontificia Comillas (Madrid), including abroad studies in Georg August University Gottingen and WU Wien.
