Ivan Shabalov

Ivan Shabalov is a Director of Alternative Investments and Manager Research at Bryn Mawr Trust Advisors. Mr. Shabalov is a seasoned investment professional with over twenty five years of industry experience. His core expertise lies in manager selection across asset classes, with a focus on alternative investments. Prior to joining BMT Advisors in 2025, Mr. Shabalov spent 18 years at BNY where he held leadership roles within BNY Mellon Wealth Management and BNY Advisors manager research teams, helping to build and maintain the BNY investment platform, as well as supporting wealth advisors. His most recent role was a leader of the Diversifier Assets Team at BNY Advisors Manager Research. Mr. Shabalov holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Riga Technical University, Latvia. He is a CFA charterholder and also holds a CAIA designation.
