Sohei Iwai leads Brown Brothers Harriman’s Alternative investment service strategy in Japan. He specialises in offshore fund structuring for Japanese investors.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Iwai spent 12 years at the Bank of Japan, where he led relationship management with European financial authorities and ESG investment studies as deputy head of BOJ Paris, and structured the Bank’s foreign reserve management program as a portfolio manager. He also engaged in supervising Japanese large financial institutions as a market/liquidity risk examiner.
Mr. Iwai holds a Master in Financial Regulation and Risk Management of SciencesPo and a Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture from Kyoto University.
Brown Brothers Harrimanで日本の投資家向けオルタナティブ投資関連サービスをリード。それ以前は、日本銀行で12年間にわたり、外貨準備運用マネージャー、為替介入、資産買入等の市場取引、欧州駐在を歴任したほか、大手金融機関の市場・流動性リスク管理に関する金融監督業務、考査に携わる。パリ政治学院で国際金融規制の修士号を取得。京都大学工学部卒業。
