<p>Masayuki Kaneko is CEO of HSBC Asset Management (Japan) Limited since March 2020 and is appointed the Head of Institutional Business, North Asia on top of his existing role since May 10th, 2024, responsible for spearheading the institutional sales team in North Asia with a focus in Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. He is also a member of the HSBC Asset Management Taiwan Board.</p>

<p>Mr. Kaneko joined the HSBC Group in 2013 as Head of Financial Institutions Group of The Hongkong Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited in Japan, responsible for managing client relationships with financial institutions. In 2018, he was promoted to Deputy Head of Global Banking in Japan, managing both coverage and product teams, and also served as a board member of HSBC Securities (Japan) Co., Ltd. Prior to joining HSBC, Mr. Kaneko worked for Deutsche Securities Inc. (Japan) from 2006 to 2013, and MUFG Bank from 1995 to 2006.</p>

<p>Mr. Kaneko started his career at Sanwa Bank where he mainly worked in International and Corporate Planning Departments, in charge of various projects including post merger integration of the overseas operations of Sanwa Bank and Tokai Bank, planning of group capital strategies, and issuance of hybrid securities to meet Basel capital requirements.</p>

<p>At Deutsche Securities Inc. (Japan), Mr. Kaneko worked in the Financial Institutions Group of the Investment Banking Division, covering major financial institutions in banking, securities, insurance and asset management sectors in Japan.</p>

<p>Mr. Kaneko holds a BSc degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Tokyo, and an MBA in Finance from NYU Stern. He is a Japanese CPA.</p>

<p>2013年HSBCグループ入社、香港上海銀行在日支店金融法人部長として金融機関顧客の<br />
リレーション全般を統括。2018年より香港上海銀行在日支店グローバル・バンキング部門副統括責任者として営業部門およびプロダクト部門を統括、HSBC証券取締役も兼任。2020年3月、ＨＳＢＣアセットマネジメント株式会社の代表取締役社長に就任。2024年５月１０日、ＨＳＢＣアセットマネジメントの機関投資家営業責任者 北アジア地域統括を兼任し、香港、中国本土、台湾、韓国、日本を中心とする北アジア地域の機関投資家営業を統括。<br />
HＳＢＣアセットマネジメント台湾の取締役も務める。</p>

<p>HSBCグループ入社以前はドイツ証券株式会社（2006年～2013年）、三菱UFJ銀行（1995-2006）に勤務。</p>

<p>1995年三和銀行入行。国内営業店勤務を経て、市場国際統括部および企画部にて、海外支店および現地法人の経営管理、三和銀行/東海銀行の海外拠点統廃合、グループ財務戦略の立案、資本調達プロジェクト等を担当。</p>

<p>2006年ドイツ証券株式会社入社。投資銀行本部金融法人部にて、銀行・証券・保険・<br />
アセットマネジメントの各セクターの主要金融機関のカバレッジを担当。金融機関の公募増資案件、優先出資証券・劣後債・シニア債の引受、国内外のアドバイザリー案件等のプロジェクトを遂行。</p>

<p>東京大学農学部農業経済学科、ニューヨーク大学スターン経営大学院卒。公認会計士。</p>
