Head of Space Strategy, UK Space Agency
Heather is Head of Strategy at the UK Space Agency (UKSA), having previously led the UK Space Agency’s Space Applications and Data team. Heather’s work has included managing the Business Applications and Space Solutions programme in collaboration with the European Space Agency, investing in companies looking to use space data, or a space asset, in an innovative and commercial way. She has also led the development of an investment strategy for the Agency, pivoting the organisation towards funding projects likely to maximise investment into the UK space sector. Prior to working in UKSA, Heather has held a number of science-focused position across Government, including working on biodiversity policy in the Treasury, supporting the COVID-19 response and setting standards for the energy efficiency of buildings in the Building Regulations.
