Michael Becker is the Chief Operating Officer of PAM, with over 26 years of experience in fund management, trading, and operations.
Prior to PAM, Michael was the Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Zaaba Capital Limited, a hedge fund focused on long-short and long-only strategies in China, India, and ASEAN. Before that, he was the COO and founder of Silver Tree, a Hong Kong-based event-driven hedge fund focused on equity capital markets transactions. At both Zaaba and Silver Tree, he oversaw all non-investment functions including legal and compliance, finance, operations, technology, investor relations, and marketing.
Michael was previously Investment Director at Sal. Oppenheim, one of Europe’s leading private banks. He was responsible for setting up and managing the Hong Kong office, and for overseeing the Oppenheim family's and bank’s Asian hedge fund investment program. Earlier, he worked as a consultant at GFX, advising hedge fund managers on fund establishment, operational infrastructure, financing solutions, and bespoke structuring.
He began his career as an equity and equity derivatives trader in London and Johannesburg, gaining exposure to emerging markets and complex financial products. Michael is a Certified Marine Surveyor and is currently pursuing an MSc in Marine Operations.
