Kensuke regularly advises on financial regulations (including securities, asset management and investment fund regulations), fund formation and management, and has been recognized as a leading practitioner in this area by Chambers Asia-Pacific. His other practice areas include general corporate, private equity/venture capital and startups, technology and data protection and life sciences and health care.
Kensuke was a Deputy Director of the Financial Services Agency of Japan from 2007 to 2009 where he worked on various Japanese financial regulatory reforms and has also spent time as a visiting attorney at Kirkland & Ellis’s Chicago office. Kensuke served as a member of the Project Team on Healthcare Startup Acceleration at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in 2024, and as a member of the Working Group on Market Trading Regulations of the Financial System Council in 2025.
2000年弁護士登録（東京弁護士会）、長島・大野・常松法律事務所入所。2006年Stanford Law School卒業（LL.M.）。2006年～2007年にKirkland & Ellis LLPのシカゴオフィスにおいて勤務。2007年～2009年に金融庁総務企画局市場課専門官として金融商品取引法令の改正を担当。2024年厚生労働省「ヘルスケアスタートアップ等の振興・支援策検討プロジェクトチーム」委員、2025年金融審議会「市場制度ワーキング・グループ」委員。
証券・金融規制法、アセットマネジメント、ファンドの組成・販売・運用、クロスボーダー取引・M&Aなど、金融・企業法務全般を取り扱うほか、薬事・ヘルスケア分野のM&A・企業法務を手がける。
