Shelley Liu

Country Head of China, Barings

Shelley Liu is Barings’ Country Head of China. She is also the Legal Representative and General Manager of Barings’ Shanghai-based Private Fund Management Wholly Foreign-Owned Enterprise (PFM WFOE) and Qualified Domestic Limited Partnership (QDLP) entity. Shelley is responsible for managing sales, business development and client service activities in China. Prior to joining the firm in 2018, she was the Head of Government Relations for China and Chief Representative at Vanguard’s Beijing office. She started her tenue with Vanguard from Vanguard Investment Hong Kong Limited in 2013, and relocated to Beijing in September 2014 when the Beijing Representative Office was established. Before joining Vanguard, Shelley worked for Wellington Asset Management, Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) and National Council for Social Security Fund. She holds a MS degree in International Banking from Loughborough University in the U.K. and a BA in Economics from the University of International Business and Economics in China.
