Lee Harwood

Lee has been in the industry since 1981. Throughout his career he has managed sinking funds, defeasance funds, pension funds, endowment funds, and family office and private client portfolios. In 1994, he formed the Harwood Group, creating a distinct wealth management platform to provide institutional structure and discipline to private clients. Lee works in concert with a highly skilled team of professionals who help deliver every facet of the wealth management offering. He has been a keynote speaker at a number of conferences in Canada and the US on building a wealth management practice. He has been a panelist for a number of AIMA conferences on alternative investing. In addition, he has been a guest lecturer on organizational finance at the Rowe School of Business MBA Program at Dalhousie University. Lee has always been committed to community involvement and as such, has donated his time and resources to a variety of deserving institutions in education, the arts, heritage and sports.
Recently, he has been actively involved in the fundraising efforts of the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, Dalhousie University Women’s Athletics, Dalhousie University Women in Leadership, the Provincial Autism Centre, Acadia University Women’s Athletics and True Patriot Love. In 2014, Lee was nominated for the Maritime Philanthropy Awards as Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser. He won the Maritime Philanthropy award the following year in 2015, and in 2018, he was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Award for Nova Scotia Volleyball at the Support 4 Sport Awards.
