Sohei Iwai leads Brown Brothers Harriman’s Alternative investment service strategy in Japan. He specialises in offshore fund structuring for Japanese investors.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Iwai spent 12 years at the Bank of Japan, where he led relationship management with European financial authorities and ESG investment studies as deputy head of BOJ Paris, and structured the Bank’s foreign reserve management program as a portfolio manager. He also engaged in supervising Japanese large financial institutions as a market/liquidity risk examiner.
Mr. Iwai holds a Master in Financial Regulation and Risk Management of SciencesPo and a Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture from Kyoto University.
