Matthias is a co-founder and member of the Management, Investment and Risk Committees of Avellinia Capital (AvCap’), an emerging investment management firm focused on the specialty finance sector. At the intersection of private debt and asset-based finance, AvCap's strategy revolves around financing loan portfolios originated by fintech lenders while distinguishing itself with a hands-on and long-term approach to its portfolio companies.
Matthias started his career over 25 years ago in Private Equity. After that, he worked across three continents as a management consultant, macro trader and real estate investor, before co-founding Avellinia Capital in 2017. Matthias leads Originator Underwriting and Diligence, Macro Strategy, ESG, Finance and Compliance.
